Finally, Redmi made the arrival of Note 8 and Note 8 Pro smartphones official, displaying the definite specifications of the handsets. Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi's subsidiary follows the expected pattern of offering handsets with cost-effective and high-performance performance, broadening competition with other companies.

The public eye was already focused on this announcement due to rumors about the Redmi Note 8 Pro 64 megapixel camera . And without disappointing, the manufacturer confirmed the information already released in the media: the sensor exists and the smartphone is the first in the world to receive it.

Redmi Note 8

Starting with the simplest model, the Note 8 features Snapdragon 665 ( Qualcomm ) processor with 11 nanometer (nm) lithography. The chipset has eight Kryo 260 cores, four running at 2.2 GHz and the remaining four at 1.8 GHz.

The camera, even on the smaller version of the model, also holds good promise: at the rear, a four-sensor layout includes the main 48-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens, a 2-megapixel macro camera, and a depth, also at 2 megapixels. The main camera has the ISOCELL GM2 sensor, developed by Samsung . At the front, the selfie camera has 13 megapixels and a notch dedicated to its screen at the top of the display.

And speaking of the display, the Redmi Note 8 features a 6.3 inch LCD screen with FullHD + resolution: In this model, the manufacturer chose not to use the OLED format, which makes the fingerprint reader positioned on the back of the smartphone (not under the screen, as some rumors have indicated). Finally, the 4,000 mAh battery features 18W capacity and fast charging via a USB-C input. The latter is centered between a 3.5mm headphone jack (the popular “P2”) and the speakers. Probably the three items should be soldered on the same plate if we look internally.

The Redmi Note 8 will have three distinct versions: 4 GB of RAM / 64 GB of storage (suggested price: $ 140 or $ 581.66 on Thursday); 6 GB / 64 GB ($ 167) and 6GB / 128 GB ($ 195 or $ 810). Three colors can be chosen: black, white and blue.

Redmi Note 8 Pro

The “sturdier” model announced by Redmi confirms some rumors spread about it in the specialized press. The main one is the camera that, in fact, brings the 64 megapixels promised by the manufacturer, courtesy of a Samsung ISOCELL GW1 sensor. According to the manufacturer, the device brings what is known as " pixel binning technology ", ie the sensor combines lighting data from multiple pixels in one point, supposedly enhancing brightness and contrast.

Still at the rear, the Redmi Note 8 Pro features the same four-camera layout as its smaller brother. However, the most powerful model aligns the four sensors in the center. Along with the 64-megapixel sensor mentioned earlier, these are the only differences in camera cameras, as the other three sensors are the same in both. At the front, however, the Note 8 Pro features a 20-megapixel selfie camera with a number of artificial intelligence image enhancement functions (Redmi hasn't detailed exactly what that means).

The Note 8 Pro's display is 6.35 inches in LCD format and FullHD + resolution. At the bottom, small 4.2 mm thick bezels complete the look.

Internally, we have another market debut: the Redmi Note 8 Pro is the first smartphone to ship MediaTek's Helio G90T processor . On the battery, the same 18W quick recharge of the common Note 8, but with a 4,500 mAh capacity. It is worth mentioning: the Mediatek processor was developed with the gamer audience of smartphones in mind, then the redmi 8 Note Pro - although it is not a gaming phone just like the Black Shark 2 , the very Xiaomi or ROG Phone , the Asus - It features a cooling chamber system to compensate for the heat generated by the chipset.

Also available in three colors (black, green and white), the Redmi Note 8 Pro will come in two versions: 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage (suggested price: $ 195 or $ 810) and 8 GB of 128 GB RAM (price: $ 250 or $ 1,038).

Both devices are expected to grace Chinese and Indian shelves on September 28, 2019. There is no information yet on the arrival of the models in other markets.
